Powerful new images.
Same reliability and effectiveness.
At CCS Corporation, we know how to bring images together to create a unique and powerful vision pack — perhaps better than anyone. We've developed many vision packs for education, training and entertainment over the last 25 years.
We first introduced our common image communication concept to the world in the 1990s in the international best-selling board game, Compatibility and then as the Compatibility Communication System. We have had an unparalleled opportunity to create and assess the effect of vision pack image sets in many countries and cultures. And we have put everything we have learned into this new edition. So, you can be certain your participants will have the extraordinary communication experiences you have always trusted the CCS to deliver. All you have to do is give everyone a pack and a topic and let the cards do the rest.

We are really glad to hear that you are very happy with your current CCS cards and that they are working for you.
The new CCS Vision Packs can be used in exactly the same way as the original pack. So, there is no need to get the new ones if you don't want.
However, there are some good reasons for adding the new packs to your communication toolset. Here's just a few:
The new cards have been selected using our proprietary CCS methodology. They are not better or worse than the original cards, they are different. Of course, some people will love something new and different, others will feel connected to the original pack. We do however believe that you can be certain your participants will have the extraordinary communication experiences you have always trusted the CCS to deliver.
Here are some of the comments about the new pack:
'I can feel the energy in this new pack'
'I thought I'd feel like I was missing something, but I really love this new pack'
'They feel younger and fresh.'
The original manual still works for the new CCS cards. The methodologies that have worked in the past, still work. Having said that, we expect to be releasing a new update to the manual this year. New editions will include references to the 2017 edition.
As with any product, it's important to update and change with time. We have kept the original CCS images for so long because they work, and they still work in countries all over the world. But we feel it is timely to refresh things.
If your participants have been exposed to the original CCS, then they may respond as anyone would to something different. They could have a reaction that is of joy, loss, relief, freshness or something entirely different. This will only be because they may be comparing to their previous experience of the CCS vision packs. In this instance, to introduce the new pack we would suggest that you open with something like:
For this next activity we will be using the CCS. I know you have used the CCS before, and I wanted to let you know that today we are using the all new CCS vision pack. It's really important that you go through your pack and choose your cards with the topic in mind. Try to resist the temptation to assess, or look through the pack comparing to the previous images you have experienced. The benefit of using the CCS is that it will help you to think more mindfully about this topic. So, don't judge, start fresh and enjoy.
We first introduced our common image communication concept to the world in the 1990s in the international best-selling board game, Compatibility and then as the Compatibility Communication System. We've developed many vision packs for education, training and entertainment over the last 25 years. We have been fortunate to have had an unparalleled opportunity to create and assess the effect of vision pack image sets in many countries and cultures. And we have put everything we have learned into this new edition.
Our initial common image selection begins with sourcing photographs and illustrations from amateur and professional photographers, well-traveled family and friends and work colleagues, to build up a large collection of candidate images. As with the development of the original Vision Pack, we have been putting candidate images aside in this way in preparation for this new edition for several years.
The elimination process involves iterative 'sweeps' through these hundreds of candidate images. With each iteration we consider one of several different themes or classification systems. Over the last few decades we have become quite expert at doing this and the process is a combination of wide experience and systematics.
For instance: we might repeatedly sweep through and divide up candidate images using taxonomies such as the Dewey Decimal System (one way of dividing up the world) or the Encyclopedia Britannica. This forms a good foundation.
We would then sweep again and again using themes, such as black-white or dark-light or single-plural, people-place, small-large, photographs-illustrations, symbols-words, simple-complex, natural-manufactured and so on. As we run this process repeatedly over many months a prototype set begins to emerge.
Then we test the prototype set with participants and professional facilitators in casual and professional settings to further refine the selection.
Throughout the process we also rely on our unique and considerable experience with this technology to ensure that each image will produce the provocative, surprising, creative and deep communication everyone has come to expect from the CCS.
Original edition CCS vision packs and vision stickers are available in the online store for purchase by logged-in Master Kit Users only. While stocks last.
As of 24 April 2017, unless otherwise stated, the new edition is now included in all CCS kits by default.
